EXCERPT: “Edina HRA members, who double as city council members, are receptive to a plan to hire a staff member dedicated to managing affordable housing in Edina. Also being proposed is a change to the city’s affordable housing policy, which allows developers to dedicate money toward affordable housing in the city without directly building it themselves. The city of Edina requires that developers set aside 10 percent of new residential units to be affordable for residents earning 50 percent of the average median income. For developers who make those units affordable for people earning 60 percent of the average median income, 20 percent of their new units are required to be affordable.” FULLSTORY: http://bit.ly/2FYLw1o
